Dedicated Ethos & Exceptional
Craftsmanship

How it Began:

Named after the native heather in his home country of Scotland, Calluna Projects was founded by Simon with the dream of helping his community live healthier, happier and more ecologically aligned lives with improved diets and lifestyles through the implementation of permaculture practices at home.

Simon has over 20 years of carpentry experience, and has predominantly specialised in high end bespoke projects. However after decades in the construction industry he felt the call to do something more impactful with his life. In 2020 he completed a Permaculture Design Course to understand more about the relationship between our food, our health and the health of our ecosystems with a view creating this business where he could combine his exceptional craftsmanship with his long held desire to make a difference.

Calluna Projects’ Vision for a Sustainable Future:

At Calluna Projects, we imagine a future where everyone can grow, eat, and share their own food. We believe that encouraging self-sufficiency in food not only improves personal health but also helps our environment locally and globally and can also help us rebuild our community connections.

We are going to enable people to grow fresh, organic food, free from harmful pesticides, additives, plastic packaging and excessive transportation no matter how much space or resources they have by creating customised gardens and property setups that suit each client’s situation. And we’ll create these spaces so they are also a joy to spend time in.

We want to see a future where urban gardens are thriving. Where rooftops, balconies, and community spaces are also utilised in this important pursuit of creating a stronger connection between people and the food they eat, and we intend on being an integral part of that movement.

While this dream is lofty and we know that no one can - nor needs to - achieve complete self sufficiency from one urban garden we know that every step we take in that direction to reduce our dependancy on big agriculture and supermarkets has enormously positive ripple effects in many aspects of our lives.

So let us help you start making those positive changes today!
